Why Budi Guaman Was Founded
Budi Guaman came together in Kuala Lumpur with a straightforward purpose: to offer families a place where legal questions about separation, custody, and marriage could be addressed with honesty and without unnecessary pressure.
Family law matters touch deeply personal parts of people's lives. We noticed that many individuals facing these situations were unsure where to start, worried about how they would be received, and uncertain whether the legal process was something they could navigate. We wanted to change that experience.
Our approach draws on Malaysian family law practice — registered with the Malaysian Bar — alongside a firm belief that clients deserve straightforward information, realistic expectations, and a practitioner who respects the weight of what they are going through.

All advocates at Budi Guaman are admitted to the Malaysian Bar and practise in full compliance with the Legal Profession Act 1976 and the Bar's conduct rules.

Every communication with our office is protected by legal professional privilege. We do not share client details with any third party without explicit, informed consent.

Budi Guaman operates from Persiaran KLCC 7 in central Kuala Lumpur, serving clients across the Klang Valley and beyond. Our work sits within Malaysian civil family law — covering separation, divorce, financial settlements, custody, access rights, and maintenance obligations.
Family legal matters in Malaysia are primarily governed by the Law Reform (Marriage and Divorce) Act 1976 for civil unions, alongside relevant provisions of the Rules of Court 2012. Our practitioners have worked within this framework for over a decade, developing the kind of practical familiarity that comes only from day-to-day case management rather than textbook study alone.
We work with clients who are at very different stages: some who have made a firm decision and need to move forward; some who are still weighing their options and want to understand the full picture; and some who are dealing with an urgent situation involving children or financial concerns. Our consultation service is designed to address all of these starting points.
