• "Services" — family law consultations, representation, and related legal services as described on this website.

• "Agreement" — these Terms and Conditions, together with any engagement letter or fee agreement.
• "Content" — text, images, guides, and any other material published on the Website.

By accessing the Website or submitting an enquiry, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, have the legal capacity to enter into this Agreement, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website or our services.

These Terms apply to use of the Website and to all professional engagements with the Firm. Where there is a separate engagement letter, the terms of that letter take precedence over these Terms to the extent of any inconsistency.

We offer family law services in Malaysia, including:

• Family Consultation — a private conversation to understand your situation and explain the options available, including mediation (RM 275).
• Separation and Divorce Representation — assistance with documents, correspondence, and negotiation (RM 735).
• Custody and Maintenance Support — representation before courts and relevant authorities regarding custody, access, and maintenance (RM 1,510).

Services are available to clients in Malaysia. The Firm does not offer legal advice in respect of laws outside Malaysia without first agreeing a separate engagement. Published prices are indicative; the scope and fee for your matter will be confirmed in writing before work begins.

To allow us to assist you effectively, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, complete, and truthful information about your circumstances.
• Disclose any developments that may affect your matter promptly.
• Respond to requests for instructions or documents within a reasonable time.
• Use the Website lawfully and not attempt to disrupt or interfere with its operation.
• Not submit abusive, defamatory, or unlawful content through any form or communication channel on the Website.

All Content on the Website — including text, layout, graphics, and guides — is owned by or licensed to Budi Guaman. You may read, print, and share Content for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not reproduce, adapt, or republish any Content without our prior written consent.

Legal advice or documents we prepare for you in connection with your matter remain our intellectual property until fees are settled in full, at which point they are provided for your personal use.

Our fees are set out on the Website as indicative figures and confirmed in writing in your engagement letter. All amounts are stated in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and are subject to any applicable government tax.

Payment terms will be specified in your engagement letter. Where a deposit is required, work will not commence until it is received. We accept payment by bank transfer or other methods confirmed at the time of engagement.

If you have a concern about a fee, please raise it with us promptly. We are committed to resolving any billing queries in a straightforward and respectful manner.

We treat everything you share with us in the course of a professional engagement as confidential. We will not disclose information about your matter to any third party without your consent, except where required by law, court order, or professional regulatory obligation.

Please note that information submitted through our website contact form before a formal engagement is established is treated with care but may not attract full legal professional privilege until an engagement letter is signed.

In such circumstances, we will give you reasonable notice and cooperate with the transfer of your file to another solicitor.

Sections 5, 7, 8, 9, and 11 of these Terms survive any termination of the Agreement.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising in connection with these Terms or our services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.

Before commencing any formal proceedings, both parties agree to attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting us at [email protected]. We will endeavour to acknowledge your concern within five working days and to propose a constructive path forward.

Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with any engagement letter, form the entire agreement between you and us regarding their subject matter.

Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect.

Waiver: Our failure to enforce a provision on one occasion does not constitute a waiver of the right to enforce it on another.

Assignment: You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our written consent.
